Journeys in childhood…
Mandi Orozco grew up in Orlando, Florida. At the age of eight she began gracing the stages of Disney World that ignited a love affair with performing. Mandi appeared with Stevie Wonder in the opening of Animal Kingdom. Mandi did Disney’s Christmas specials in 1997 & 1998 including a singing duet with Tim McGraw. Her formative training began in the dance studio under the instruction of Choreographer Melissa Stokes. The next six years Mandi competed in jazz, ballet, hip-hop and contemporary, achieving numerous team and individual awards. In 2006, shortly before graduating high school, Mandi moved into circus to further expand her art. She showed an amazing aptitude for tissu and immediately began touring with New Vision Cirque. As Mandi traveled along the eastern seaboard and into the Caribbean, she performed at conventions, charities and private parties hosted by celebrities such as Donald Trump and John Travolta. Her training led her to Ecole Nationale de Cirque, specializing in aerial tissu, but not limited to; as she also showed talent in contortion and duo trapeze. Mandi was coached by the enormously accomplished Veronique Thibeault. She completed the rigourous three year intensive in June 2010. Additionally, she is accomplished in acrobatics, juggling, acting; as well as becoming proficient in the French language. Mandi was invited to participate in the 2010 Winter Olympic’s opening ceremonies in Vancouver, British Columbia. Currently, Mandi is performing with Cirque du Soleil’s “Dralion” in a North American tour and is cast in a principle role as “Goddess of the Wind” About Mandi…
